    Planning — Practicalities

What Is Included in a Private Heritage Journey

Every private journey is built as a fully planned experience rather than a loose collection of services, and this page sets out plainly what is included as standard across our 3, 6, 10 and 14-day itineraries, priced from €2,450 to €12,900 per person.

    Transport and Guiding

Every journey includes a dedicated private driver-guide for its full duration, along with executive Mercedes transport throughout, from airport meet-and-greet to the final departure transfer. This single point of contact manages both the driving and the historical interpretation delivered at each stop.

Cross-border transport into Spain, where applicable on the 14-day journey, is included on the same standard, with routing planned to keep driving distances comfortable.

    Accommodation and Dining

Accommodation is selected according to each leg of the journey — five-star hotels in Lisbon and Porto, wine estate hotels or pousadas in the interior and Alentejo — and confirmed once dates and traveller numbers are known. Specific properties are proposed as part of the itinerary confirmation rather than fixed in advance.

Restaurant reservations are arranged throughout the journey, curated to reflect the regional cuisine and wine of each stop, with dietary preferences incorporated once shared with our team.

    Site Access and Planning

Guided visits to the heritage sites central to each itinerary — judiarias, interpretation centres and, where applicable, Belmonte subject to its own request and authorization process outside weekends and Shabbat — are planned and coordinated in advance, including confirmation of current opening hours at smaller museums.

Concierge planning covers the full arc of the trip: sequencing visits sensibly, managing timing around limited-hours sites, and adjusting the itinerary in response to weather, closures or traveller preference during the journey itself.

What Falls Outside the Standard Inclusion

International flights to and from Portugal are arranged independently by travellers, though our team advises on routing and timing as part of planning the arrival day. Personal travel insurance is likewise arranged separately.

Specific add-ons — an additional wine estate day, an extended stay in a particular city, or a modified route for families or specific interests — can be built into any journey on request, generally reflected in an adjusted overall price depending on scope.
